Events Coming Soon!

In light of the current C19 pandemic it is very difficult to predict when it will be possible to return to normality. The committee have however decided to pencil in dates for events in the hope that they will be able to go ahead.  Should it prove impossible to hold live events we will, wherever practical provide on line, or other, alternatives.  We hope that you will enjoy participating despite the limitations this may impose.  To ensure the continuation of key local NT projects your support is crucial - and much appreciated!

Wednesday 29th September Educate & Inspire Talk on ZOOM
Beavering Away: Separating myths from reality in freshwater restoration with specific reference to Valewood, part of the National Trust Black Down Estate.
Guy Woodward, Professor of Ecology at Imperial College London, will talk about the common mistakes made during restoration and reintroduction attempts.
The reintroduction scheme for beavers at Valewood, which are "major ecosystem engineers", provides a golden opportunity to avoid the common pitfalls and pratfalls that are unfortunately so rife in restoration ecology.  This will be a great opportunity to get behind the headlines and understand the science behind the National Trust plans for Valewood.

Please encourage your friends to join the Zoom call!
